Alternative Gift Market
An Alternative Gift Market in Bethesda will offer opportunities to give to 18 worthy projects through non-profit organizations around the world and in the US. Examples include a girls' school in the Congo, bicycles for health workers in Africa, safe water in the Philippines and homeless shelters and food pantries in the US. RRUUC's Alternative Gift Market begins Nov. 27, and will be held again Dec. 4, Dec.11 and Dec. 18 at River Road Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 6301 River Road in Bethesda, Md. The market, held in the Congregation's Fellowship Hall, will be open from 10:15am to 11:15am, and again from 12:15pm to 1:00pm on those days. RRUUC's tel.# is 301-229-0400
A catalog of opportunities and an order form will be available; cash, checks and credit card payments will be accepted. Those interested can also preview the catalog online and download an order form by going to RRUUC.org/agm. The filled-out forms should be brought to RRUUC or mailed. Instructions are given on the website. Greeting cards and descriptions of the chosen donations are provided to all who purchase gifts; all contributions are tax-deductible.
