Report: Thieves Discard Package, Boy Tracks Down Infant Recipient

NBC Washington reports on how a young Friendship Heights, DC, resident tracked down the rightful owner of a Christmas package.

A Christmas package that the thieves didn't want was reunited with its rightful family this week, thanks to a quick-thinking 10-year-old boy in Friendship Heights, Washington, DC, NBC Washington reported.

Teddy and his mom found an opened U.S. Postal Service package on a Friendship Heights sidewalk this past Sunday. When they looked inside the package, they found a baby toy with a gift tag that read, "To: Bianca, From: Aunt Myrlys," NBC Washington reported.

"We had to bring this home. This is obviously a Christmas toy for an infant," Teddy told NBC.

With the help of a neighborhood listserv, Teddy and his mom were able to locate Bianca's mom, so that Bianca could get her Christmas gift from Aunt Myrlys, NBC Washington explained.
