Honest Tea Offers Prizes for Bottles During 'The Great Recycle'

Looking for a way to celebrate Earth Month? Look no further than Union Station, where Bethesda-based beverage company Honest Tea will bring a 30-foot recycling bin and offer prizes to recyclers this Wednesday and Thursday.
Just bring your empty beverage containers and trade them in for items like gift certificates, snacks, yoga mats, bicycles, Zipcar memberships, and signed Redskins memorabilia.
The national event, known as "The Great Recycle," was launched by Honest Tea in Times Square last year to educate the public about recycling.

More than 32,000 bottles have been recycled at the event across several states, and The Great Recycle will continue its national tour this year.
The more bottles you bring, the better the prizes. From Honest Tea, examples of rewards for recyclers include:

1 bottle = Stickers or Honest Tea bracelet
3 bottles = Bottle of Honest Tea and assorted other snacks
15 bottles = Take-home planter project from Home Depot
35 bottles = Sweetgreen gift card ($10)
50 bottles = a TerraCycle item
100 bottles = South Moon Under gift card ($25) or Twice as Warm apparel
200 bottles = Element skateboard
350 bottles = Roti Mediterranean Grill catering for 10 people or a Lululemon Yoga Mat
1,000 bottles = Citizen bike
2,000 bottles = 1 Year ZipCar Membership
3,000 bottles = Redskins Ultimate Fan Package: team apparel, poster, & autographed memorabilia from Robert Griffin III
Held in conjunction with the Earth Day Network and the Premier Tourist and Landmark Association, the "Great Recycle" is set for 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Union Station's West Carriage Porch.
