Full Schedule of Town of Chevy Chase Fourth of July Events

Reserve a spot at the Town of Chevy Chase July 4 picnic now. The celebration will include a parade, music, games and reading of the Declaration of Independence.

Reserve your spot at the Town of Chevy Chase Fourth of July picnic on the Lawton Center grounds soon, say organizers.

Other July 4 events include the parade, which starts at noon, plus music, games and a reading of the Declaration of Independence.

Independence Day Picnic & Parade

CELEBRATE ON THE FOURTH
Noon Parade
The parade will begin at 12 p.m. Come to the Lawton Center grounds at 11:30 a.m. to decorate your bikes, scooters, wagons, and baby carriages. The Town will provide decorating supplies.

12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Picnic
Town residents will be treated to barbeque catered by Red, Hot & Blue and the famous Ben and Jerry’s ice cream truck. Vegetarian options available upon request. Bring your appetite and picnic blanket!

12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m. Music and Games 
We will have music and games for young and old alike! 

READING THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE
The reading of the Declaration of Independence at this event has become a tradition. We encourage readers of all ages to take part. If you would like to volunteer to read a few lines, contact Beth Kevles at bethkevles@gmail.com or 301-654-3388.
