Imagine making your own meals on Mother’s Day. The horror....Well, for all you moms out there who usually stay home and cook, I want to reassure you--it’s not TOO CROWDED to eat out. I polled fifteen of my mom-friends, all of whom have perfectly wonderful husbands, and almost no one said they went out for Mother’s Day. Here are some comments:
"I've never actually dined out on Mother's Day - my husband always cooks!!" --Jessica
"We don't go out that night since everyone else does!"
"I must admit I usually work or run to my son's baseball games!! We used to take my mom to the buffet at the Marriott on Democracy."
"I've never eaten out on Mother's Day; however, I have eaten Sunday lunch at the Irish Inn at Glen Echo and loved it."
"We usually end up grilling out, because I hate crowded restaurants. Sometimes we go out for breakfast at the though. My favorite is the lemon crepes."
"I don't eat out for Mother's Day (although last year, I did manage to make the boys take me to breakfast at the in Bethesda after the morning soccer game)."
Like my friends, I too have shopped for groceries and my husband and I cooked--usually for my mother or mother-in-law. But with the results of this (unscientific) study, I’m convinced I should make a reservation this year. Below is a list of Bethesda restaurants hoping to host your Mother’s Day event--places waiting to pamper you, and protect your husband from singeing his eyebrows on the grill.
