Attempted Robbery Reported On Bethesda Avenue

A man punched a suspect who attacked him as he walked near Artery Plaza last month, according to police.

Two suspects attempted to rob a man walking on Bethesda Avenue last month, according to a Montgomery County Police crime summary.

The man was walking in the 4700 block of Bethesda Avenue near Artery Plaza around 10:30 p.m., Sept 24, when a suspect approached him and asked him for money, according to Montgomery County Police spokeswoman Officer Janelle Smith.

Another suspect began following the man and then hit him from behind, according to Smith.

The victim punched the suspect and the two suspects fled, Smith said.

Police described the suspects as a white male and a Hispanic male, both between 17 and 20 years old, about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and 180 pounds. The Hispanic male suspect had a mustache and short black hair, police said.
