Bethesda Bank Robbed Tuesday Morning

Police are looking for the suspect, who fled on foot towards the Capital Crescent Trail.

Montgomery County police are reporting that there was a bank robbery this morning at the Columbo Bank at 6929 Arlington Road.

Officers responded around 10:13a.m. to the bank, where a suspect had displayed a handgun and demanded cash, according to police. After stealing the cash, he fled on foot towards the Capital Crescent Trail, police said. No one was injured.

Police are describing the suspect as a 50-year-old black man, about six feet tall and 190 pounds, with salt and pepper hair. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt and a red hat and was carrying a red bag.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to contact Montgomery Count Police’s robbery section at 240-773-5100.  Those who wish to remain anonymous can also call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or at 240-773-TIPS (8477). Crimes Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the robbery.
