Bethesda, Chevy Chase Crime: Burglaries at Philadelphia Mike's, Mattress Warehouse

Crimes in Bethesda and Chevy Chase included in the county police department's most recent crime summary.

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department in its summary of major crimes occurring in the county between Nov. 18 and 26. The mention of an arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Residential robberies:

Commercial burglaries:

  • A commercial burglary occurred at Philadelphia Mike's (7732 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda) between 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, and 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24. Forced entry; property taken. 
  • A commercial burglary occurred at Mattress Warehouse (6930 Wisconsin Ave., Chevy Chase) on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 2:30 a.m. Forced entry; nothing taken. 

Residential burglaries:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 4200 block of Rosemary Street in Chevy Chase on Sunday, Nov. 24, between 8 and 11 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 5100 block of Marylyn Drive in Bethesda on Saturday, Nov. 23, between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m. Forced entry; nothing taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 6600 block of Millwood Road in Bethesda during the early morning hours on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Forced entry into garage and vehicles; nothing taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 5800 block of Tanglewood Drive in Bethesda on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 5 a.m. Forced entry into garage and vehicles; property taken. 

Thefts from vehicles:

  • Three thefts from vehicles occurred during the afternoon and evening hours on different days in Friendship Heights. Streets affected included Willard Avenue, The Hills Plaza and South Park Avenue in Chevy Chase. Loose items left inside the vehicles—including laptops, purses and cash—were taken.  

Other incidents:

  • A sex offense occurred in the 6400 block of Rock Spring Drive in Bethesda on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 9:45 p.m. The suspect inappropriately touched the victim.
