Bethesda, Chevy Chase Crime: Burglaries, Thefts from Vehicles in Parking Garages

Crimes included in the county police summary for April 22 to 30.

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department in its summary of major crimes occurring in the county between April 22 and 30. The mention of an arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

  • A commercial robbery occurred at Cartier (5471 Wisconsin Ave., Chevy Chase) on Tuesday, April 30, just before 11 a.m. Read more about the incident on Patch.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 3300 block of Brooklawn Terrace, Chevy Chase, on Tuesday, April 30, at about 5 p.m. The means of entry is unknown, and nothing was taken. Police have arrested a 32-year-old man from Culpeper, VA.
  • An aggravated assault occurred in the 4900 block of St. Elmo Avenue, Bethesda, on Friday, April 26, at about 1:15 a.m. The suspects assaulted the victim, then fled. 
  • A commercial office burglary occurred at 7315 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda, over the weekend from Friday, April 26, to Monday, April 29. There was a forced entry, and property was taken.
  • Five thefts from vehicles were reported between April 22 and 30 in Bethesda parking garages along St. Elmo Avenue, Woodmont Avenue, Wisconsin Avenue and Old Georgetown Road. Incidents occurred during both the day and night, with three involving forced entries and two involving vehicles that had been left unlocked. Laptops, cell phones, clothing and loose cash were taken.
