Bethesda, Chevy Chase Crime: Commercial and Residential Burglaries

The following incidents were included in the county police's crime summary for May 13 through 21.

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department in its summary of major crimes occurring in the county between May 13 and 21. The mention of an arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

  • Three vehicle-related thefts occurred in the 2200 block of Washington Avenue and at Colston Street and Washington Avenue during the night between Thursday, May 15, and Friday, May 16. Two of the incidents occurred in the 2200 block of Washington Avenue, and the other occurred at Colston Street and Washington Avenue. One vehicle was entered by force and two vehicles were entered by unknown means. GPS units and a stereo were reportedly taken. 
  • A commercial burglary occurred at 7920 Norfolk Ave., Bethesda, during the night between Tuesday, May 14, and Wednesday, May 15. There was an unknown entry, and property was taken.
  • A commercial burglary occurred at 7272 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda, during the night between Monday, May 20, and Tuesday, May 21. There was an attempted forced entry, but nothing was taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 4200 block of East-West Highway, Bethesda, on Monday, May 13, between 9:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. There was no forced entry, and property was taken.
  • An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 9400 block of Rockville Pike, Bethesda, on Monday, May 20, between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. There was an attempted forced entry, but nothing was taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 4400 block of Willard Ave., Chevy Chase, between Wednesday, May 15, and Friday, May 17. There was no forced entry, and property was taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 7000 block of Heatherhill Road, Bethesda, between Sunday, May 19, and Monday, May 20. There was a forced entry, and nothing was taken.
