Bethesda, Chevy Chase Crime: Construction Site Theft

Crimes in Bethesda and Chevy Chase included in the county police's most recent crime summary.

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department in its summary of major crimes occurring in the county between Aug. 19 and 27. The mention of an arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.  

Commercial burglary:

  • A theft occurred at a construction site located in the 9700 block of Montauk Avenue in Bethesda during the night between Monday, Aug. 19, and Tuesday, Aug. 20. Property was taken.

Residential burglary:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 9000 block of Ewing Drive in Bethesda on Monday, Aug. 26, between 11 a.m. and 6:50 p.m. There was a forced entry, and property was taken.

Thefts from vehicles:

  • Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in the Friendship Heights area. All but one of the vehicles were entered by force. Incidents occurred on The Hills Plaza, Park Avenue, Willard Avenue and Cortland Road between Monday, Aug. 19, and Sunday, Aug. 24.
