Bethesda, Chevy Chase Crime: Robbery in Friendship Heights

Crimes in Bethesda and Chevy Chase included in the county police department's most recent crime summary.

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department in its summary of major crimes occurring in the county between Oct. 14 and 22. The mention of an arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Kidnapping:

  • A kidnapping/residential burglary occurred in the 5200 block of Tuckerman Lane in North Bethesda on Thursday, Oct. 17, at about 10:45 a.m. (Also listed in this post under "residential burglaries.")

Robbery:

  • A robbery occurred at Willard Avenue and Friendship Boulevard in Chevy Chase on Monday, Oct. 21, at about 9:20 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. 

Theft:

  • A theft occurred in the 8200 block of Ellingson Drive in Chevy Chase between Monday, Oct. 14, and Wednesday, Oct. 6. Property was taken from outside of a residence.  

Commercial burglary:

  • A commercial burglary occurred at ME&A (4300 Montgomery Ave., Bethesda) during the weekend between Friday, Oct. 18, and Monday, Oct. 21. There was an unknown entry, and property was taken. 

Residential burglaries:

  • kidnapping/residential burglary occurred in the 5200 block of Tuckerman Lane in North Bethesda on Thursday, Oct. 17, at about 10:45 a.m. (Also listed in this post under "kidnapping.")
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 5400 block of McGrath Boulevard in North Bethesda on Thursday, Oct. 17, between 7:30 and 9 p.m.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 4800 block of Crescent Street in Bethesda on Monday, Oct. 21, between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. There was a forced entry, and nothing was taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 7100 block of Glenbrook Road in Bethesda on Monday, Oct. 21, between 1:30 and 4 p.m. There was a forced entry, and property was taken.
