Bethesda, Chevy Chase Crime: Thefts from Vehicles on MD-DC Border

A residential burglary and an attempted residential burglary, both in Bethesda, also were included in the police department's most recent crime summary.

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department in its summary of major crimes occurring in the county between June 10 and 18. The mention of an arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

  • Four thefts from vehicles occurred in neighborhoods along the Maryland-Washington, DC, border. The incidents occurred during the night, and three of the vehicles were entered without signs of force. Cash and loose items were taken. The affected streets included Belvoir Drive, Jamestown Road and Flint Drive, Bethesda.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 4900 block of Battery Lane, Bethesda, between Friday and Saturday, June 14 and 15. There was no forced entry, and property was taken.
  • An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 11900 block of Bargate Court in North Bethesda between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11. There was an attempted forced entry, but nothing was taken.
