Bethesda, Chevy Chase Crime: Assault at Mall Parking Lot

Crimes in Bethesda and Chevy Chase included in the county police department's most recent crime summary.

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department in its summary of major crimes occurring in the county between Nov. 11 and 19. The mention of an arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction. 

Assaults:

  • An aggravated assault occurred at Westfield Montgomery mall (7101 Democracy Blvd., Bethesda) on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. A 24-year-old man from Potomac was arrested. Read more on Bethesda-Chevy Chase Patch. 

Thefts:

  • A theft occurred in the 6500 block of Pyle Road in Bethesda on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at about 1 p.m. The suspect removed property from outside a residence. 
  • A theft occurred in the 5330 block of Baltimore Avenue in Bethesda between Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15 and 16. Property was taken from outside a residence. 
  • A theft occurred in the 6100 block of Shady Oak Lane in Bethesda sometime between Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 11 and 12. Property was taken from outside the residence. 

Residential burglaries:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 3000 block of Greenvale Road in Chevy Chase on Monday, Nov. 16, around 1:30 a.m. There was no forced entry, but property was taken. A 24-year-old man from Chevy Chase was arrested.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 4500 block of Willard Avenue in Chevy Chase on Monday, Nov. 18, at 8:30 p.m. There was no forced entry, but property was taken. 

Thefts from vehicles:

  • A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 2400 block of Colson Drive in Chevy Chase during the night between Sunday and Monday, Nov. 17 and 18. Vehicle parts were taken.
