Elderly Pedestrian Struck on Sangamore Road

Woman transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

An elderly woman was struck by a car near the intersection of Sangamore Road and Sentinel Drive in Bethesda this afternoon, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.

The woman was struck around 2:50 p.m., according to assistant chief Scott Graham of Montgomery County Fire and Rescue. She was transported to the hospital with serious and potentially life-threatening injuries.

It wasn't immediately known whether the driver of the car who struck the woman stayed on the scene.
