Essex-Middle River Crime: Guns Stolen From Shed

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

From the Baltimore County Police Department:


Eastern Boulevard, 2800 block. Between 2 p.m., Jan. 11 and 10 a.m., Jan. 14. Someone cut a fence at a Chesapeake Trailers storage lot, pried a container and took two air conditioner condensers and various vehicle parts.

South Marlyn Avenue, 700 block. 3 a.m., Jan. 19. A man was smoking behind the South Marlyn Inn when he was attacked by a mob and a beer bottle was broken over his head. The unspecified number of attackers fled. The man was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

New Jersey Avenue, 600 block. Between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m., Jan. 17. Someone broke glass to enter a home via a basement door and steal an Acer Aspire laptop.

Burke Road, 1300 block. Between 7 p.m., Jan. 16 and 7 a.m., Jan. 17. A .22 caliber semi-automatic Marlin rifle, 16-gauge shotgun and .22 Remington rifle were stolen from a shed. The shed's door hinges had been pried off.

Snowberry Court, 700 block. Between 12:15 and 12:30 p.m., Jan. 17. A 52-inch flatscreen television, jewelry and change were stolen from a home. The burglar entered via an unlocked door. The television was later found in a wooded area behind the home. Not counting the television, the stolen property is valued at $1,010.

Compass Road, 900 block. 8:30 p.m., Jan. 17. A pedestrian was approached by two men and told to hand over his wallet. The men fled and the wallet was located later that evening by a K-9 officer.

Middleborough Road, 900 block. Between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., Jan. 17. Someone broke a rear basement window, took an Xbox 360, 15 games and a cell phone before exiting through a front door.

Orville Road, unit block. Between Jan. 12 and 7:40 p.m., Jan. 18. An Xbox 360 was stolen by unknown means.

Riverside Drive, 500 block. Between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Jan. 17. Jewelry and various coins were stolen from a home. The burglar made entry by kicking in a basement window.

Hilltop Road, 5700 block. Between 9:30 a.m. and 7:24 p.m., Jan. 19. A 42-inch Vizio television, jewelry, belts and costume jewelry were stolen. The burglar entered through an unlocked, rear door.

North Loreley Beach Road, 11200 block. Between 8 a.m., and 1:20 p.m., Jan. 20. Two flatscreen televisions, a tennis bracelet, an earring, costume jewelry, an iPod nano and an iHome were stolen. A side door had been forced in.

Myrth Avenue, 700 block. Between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m., Jan. 17. Someone entered by breaking a basement window and stole a laptop and multiple pieces of jewelry.

Williams Avenue, 1600 block. 2:30 p.m., Jan. 11. Two lamp posts were stolen from a yard.

Dihedral Drive, 100 block. Between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., Jan. 15. A generator was taken from a porch.

Middleborough Road and Brighton Manor Drive. 2:45 p.m., Jan. 16. A man was approached and asked for money by two men. The man said no and was tackled from behind. His cell phone was taken and tossed aside as the men fled. The phone was recovered.

Sand Dollar Way, 12800 block. Between 6 p.m., Jan. 15 and 8 a.m., Jan. 16. Someone broke into a vacant home by destroying a basement door frame. Nothing else was taken or disturbed.

Ginwood Lane, unit block. Between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m., Jan. 15. An iPod, gold hoop earrings, costume jewelry and medication were stolen. The home's front door had been forced open.

Glider Drive, unit block. Between 2 p.m., Jan. 13 and 4:30 p.m., Jan. 15. Someone entered a garage through a window and took a dirt bike and two BB guns.

Sandy Stone Road, 1100 block. 10:30 p.m., Jan. 13. An attacker came up behind a woman while she was unlocking her apartment door, took her purse and hit her in the back with a board. The purse contained $52, three medications and a Social Security card.

Kingston Road, unit block. 7:13 p.m., Jan. 14. A man asked the victim to sit on the ground. Fearing use of force, the victim complied. The man went through the victim's pockets and took an iPhone 4.

Russet Court, 100 block. Between 7:35 a.m. and 6:20 a.m., Jan. 14. A gold necklace and diamond earrings were stolen from a home. A rear door had been pried open.

Hunt Harbor Road, 3900 block. Between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Jan. 14. Two gas cans, a chainsaw, lock, lawnmower, two weed trimmers and a generator were stolen. Someone took a padlock off a shed and stole the lawn equipment. The generator was removed from under the home's deck.

The whole issue about having guns is keeping them out of criminals hands. Looks like a lost cause there.

Maybe we need more legislature from the state so we can't put guns inside sheds or back yards.
