Georgetown Prep Employee Arrested for Bringing Gun to School
Stephen P. Lafferty, 51, of Frederick, MD, brought a Smith & Wesson revolver into his office and placed it on his desk, unloaded and in a holster, police said.
A Georgetown Preparatory School employee was arrested Thursday, Nov. 7, for bringing a gun onto the grounds of the school, located at 10900 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda, according to a news release from the Montgomery County Police Department.
Stephen P. Lafferty, 51, of Frederick, MD, brought a Smith & Wesson revolver into his office and placed it on his desk, unloaded and in a holster, police said. Lafferty brought the gun with him intending to have work done on it after school, reported the police, who received a call about the gun around 1:50 p.m.
Police took the gun and arrested Lafferty. While searching Lafferty after his arrest, police found drug paraphernalia on him, according to the news release.

Lafferty was charged with one count of possessing a dangerous weapon on school property and one count of possession of paraphernalia for using a controlled and dangerous substance. He was released on bond, police said.
