House Fire Causes $100,000 Damage, No Injuries

A house in the Wood Acres community of Bethesda sustained about $100,000 damage in a fire Wednesday.

A Bethesda house sustained about $100,000 damage from an early-morning fire Wednesday, according to Montgomery County firefighters.

The house fire was reported around 1 a.m. today at 5708 Cromwell Drive in the Wood Acres community of Bethesda, reports Montgomery Community Media.

Fire Spokesperson Pete Piringer reports on his Twitter account that the fire started in an electrical panel in the house’s basement utility room.

Piringer said the fire caused $75,000 damage to the house and $25,000 to the contents inside.

The home’s residents evacuated the two-story, split-level house before firefighters arrived on scene. There were no injuries, authorities said.
