#MoCo Online: Remembering Police Officer Luke T. Hoffman

Six years ago today, Police Officer III Luke T. Hoffman died in the line of duty.

On Thursday, the Montgomery County Police Department paid tribute on Facebook to Police Officer III Luke T. Hoffman.

Hoffman was only 24 and a one-year veteran of the Montgomery County Police Department when he died in the line of duty. He was pursuing a DWI suspect when he was fatally injured in an automobile accident early on April 25, 2007.

Hoffman was promoted from the rank of police officer 1 to that of police officer 3 after his death, according to the county police department's website.

He was survived by his parents and five siblings.
