Glenn Neff, the Florida man in custody after county authorities say he built a device that would horizontally from the top of his Jeep Cherokee, left messages on what appears to be his Facebook page decrying the Federal Reserve prior to his arrest.

Neff, who told authorities he planned to ignite the fireworks on the National Mall, was arrested in the Cabin John Regional Park Monday night. Neff told authorities he didn’t intend to hurt anyone with the home-made device, but rather planned to “draw attention to himself and issues he had with the banking industry,” according to a statement from Maryland-National Capital Park Police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.

Authorities wouldn't provide further information on what Neff said his intentions may have been, but they did say the device had the potential to cause harm.

On the Facebook page, Neff lists himself as a resident of Stuart, Fla. and lists his college as Stetson University. He posts his political views as Libertarian and his occupation as “Humanity’s last best hope for freedom.”

“I have come to the inescapable conclusion that the bankers at the Federal Reserve engineered this financial crisis on purpose. And ladies and gentlemen, I have figured out how to get rid of the ba---rds.”

In a May status update, Neff wrote,

“HAHA!!!! One down . . . 5999 to GO!! A----les BETTER RUN!”

In a February update, he wrote,

"Notice to the Old World Order: I am coming. I am coming for you and I will spare no one. You have six days left. Make the most of them."

Neff was charged Tuesday with three felonies -- manufacturing, transporting and possessing a destructive device.
