Pedestrian Struck on Westport Road
Police: The woman suffered serious injuries and was flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma.
A woman was struck Tuesday morning while walking on Westport Road near Saratoga Avenue in Bethesda, Montgomery County police said.
The woman suffered serious injuries and was transported via helicopter to Baltimore Shock Trauma, said Officer Rebecca Innocenti, a police spokeswoman.

Police responded shortly before 8 a.m. to the scene, Innocenti said. The driver of the vehicle that struck the woman stayed on the scene.
Westport Road is closed at Saratoga Avenue.
