Peeping Tom Incident, Indecent Exposure Reported in Bethesda

Police are invesigating whether the incidents at the Bethesda Sport and Health and the Bethesda Hyatt are related, police said.

Police are investigating whether a Peeping Tom incident at a Bethesda gym and an indecent exposure in the lobby of a Bethesda hotel could be related, according to a Montgomery County police spokeswoman.

The incidents were reported late last month at the Bethesda Sport and Health club and at the Bethesda Hyatt, according to a recent crime summary provided by police.

A man was reported in the women's locker room of the Bethesda Sport and Health club Nov. 23, between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. The man fled after someone noticed him and yelled, said Angela Cruz, a Montgomery County Police spokeswoman.

The suspect was later located by police and detained on an outstanding warrant for an unrelated theft, according to the crime summary.

The following day, Nov. 24, a man entered the lobby of the Bethesda Hyatt hotel between 6 and 7 a.m. and sat across from a woman before exposing himself and fleeing, according to the crime summary.

Police are investigating whether the two incidents could be related, Cruz said.

It wasn't clear whether charges were pending against the man detained following the Sport and Health incident, Cruz said.
