A truck fire off Old Georgetown Road on I-270 slowed traffic early Saturday afternoon, MCFRS Asst. Chief Scott Graham said.

A truck fire early Saturday afternoon on I-270 near Old Georgetown Road was quickly put out without any injuries, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services Asst. Chief Scott Graham said.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, Graham said, adding that it was mostly "a traffic nuisance."

Zack Gross, of Gaithersburg, photographed the fire while driving past it around noon. Gross said traffic was moving steadily and people were moving into the HOV lane to get as far from the fire as possible.
