Police Blotter: July 11-19

A summary of recent crimes in Bethesda.

Montgomery County Police recently released a summary of crimes in the county from July 11 to July 19. Following is a summary of crimes in Bethesda.

July 11

  • There were four thefts from vehicles between Monday, July 11, and Sunday, July 17, along Fernwood Road, Radnor Road, Seven Locks Road, and Seneca Lane. Two of the vehicles were left unlocked  and there was forced entry into two of the vehicles.

July 12

  • An office was burglarized at 3 Bethesda Metro Center, at 8:15 a.m.
  • There were eight thefts from vehicles on Rosedale Avenue, Parkhill Terrace and Parkwood Drive between Tuesday, July 12, and Thursday, July 14. One vehicle had its window broken and the others were left unlocked. Items stolen included GPS units and cash.

July 13

  • There was an attempted residential shed burglary in the 6200 block of Walhonding Road in the overnight hours between Wednesday, July 13, and Thursday, July 14. There was attempted forced entry into the shed but nothing was stolen.

July 16

  • There was an attempted residential burglary in the 7000 block of Strathmore Street sometime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. There was attempted forced entry into the home but nothing was stolen.
  • North Bethesda Middle School was along with seven cars along Beech Avenue. Paint was poured on the cars.

July 17

  • The World Market at 8125 Wisconsin Avenue was burglarized around 3:30 a.m. There was forced entry and property was stolen.
  • A home was burglarized in the 4600 block of Rosedale Avenue at 4:10 p.m. It wasn’t known how the home was accessed or whether anything was stolen.
