Police Blotter: March 14 - March 22

A summary of recent crimes in Bethesda.

Montgomery County Police recently released a summary of crimes in the county from March 14 to March 22. Following is a summary of recent crimes in Bethesda.

 March 14

  • A pickpocketing incident happened at the Bethesda Metro around 8:20p.m. A female victim was riding the metro escalator when a group of teens approached her. One of the teens distracted the victim while the other four bumped her as they ran past her. She later noticed her wallet missing from her purse. Police are describing the suspects as four black males, between 16 and 18 years old, and a black female between 16 and 18 years old.

March 18

  • Graffiti was painted on the rear door of  Seven Locks Elementary School, 7000 Radnor Road sometime between Friday, March 18 and Monday, March 21.

March 19

  • A residential burglary happened in the 10400 block of Auto Park Avenue sometime between 6p.m. and 6:45p.m.  Property was taken and there was no forced entry.

March 20

  • A theft from a vehicle happened at Jim Coleman Cadillac at 10400 Auto Park Avenue around 3a.m.  Two men stole a shifter knob from a Nissan. They set off an alarm and fled in a two-door gray Nissan. Police are describing both men as beteen six feet five and six feet six inches tall.

March 22

  • A commercial robbery happened at the Colombo Bank at 6929 Arlington Road around 10:00a.m. Armed with a gun, the suspect stole cash and fled towards the Capital Crescent Trail. on the suspect’s description and surveillance images are available on Patch.
