Montgomery County police recently released a summary of crimes in the county from May 9 to May 17. Following is a summary of recent crimes in Bethesda.
May 9
- A theft happened in the 5100 block of Nahant Street sometime between Monday, May 9, and Tuesday, May 10. Property was stolen from outside a home.
- A residential burglary happened in the 7500 block of Glennon Road sometime between 2a.m. and 7a.m. There was no forced entry and property was stolen.
May 13

- Multiple commercial burglaries happened at 7200 Wisconsin Avenue sometime over the weekend between Friday, May 13 and Monday, May 16. Property was stolen, but it was unknown how the suspect entered the business.
- A residential burglary happened in the 5200 block of Duvall Drive sometime between 9:45 a.m. and 11a.m. There was forced entry, but nothing was stolen.
- Graffiti was painted on a brick wall of sometime between Friday, May 13, and Saturday, May 14.
May 16
- An attempted commercial robbery happened at the Rite Aid at 5350 Westbard Avenue just before 1p.m. A suspect threatened a victim inside the store and tried to take property. Nothing was obtained. Police are describing the suspect as a white male between 35 and 45 years old, between six feet and six feet two inches tall and 180 and 200 pounds, with black hair.
May 17

- A victim was assaulted by two suspects – a black male and a white male – around 11p.m. in the 7000 block of Clarendon Road.
Unspecified dates
- Items were stolen from six unlocked cars over the course of the week in Glen Echo. Cash, GPS units, sunglasses, CDs, and other items were stolen. The thefts happened in the 6100 block of Massachusetts Avenue, the 5800 block of Augusta Lane, the 6900 block of 79th Street, the 5800 block of Osceola Road and the 4600 block of Chevy Chase Boulevard.
