Police Blotter: Oct. 17 - Oct. 25

A summary of recent crimes in Bethesda.

Montgomery County police recently released a summary of crimes in the county from Oct. 17 to Oct. 25. Following is a summary of crimes in Bethesda.

Oct. 19

  • There was an attempted residential burglary in the 5200 block of Chamberlin Avenue in the overnight hours from Wednesday, Oct. 19, to Thursday, Oct. 20. There was attempted forced entry into the home but nothing was stolen.
  • A home was burglarized in the 8600 block of Beech Tree Road in the overnight hours from Wednesday, Oct. 19 to Thursday, Oct. 20. There was unforced entry into the home and property was stolen.

  • A home was burglarized in the 7300 block of Longwood Drive around 2a.m. Property was stolen.
  • Graffiti was painted in the back of at 8935 Bradmoor Drive.

 
Oct. 21

  • A victim was assaulted around 1a.m. in the 4900 block of Fairmont Avenue. Police are describing the suspects as two Hispanic males between 21 and 30 years old. One suspect had dread locks and the other was about five feet, eight inches tall and 200 pounds.
  • There was a residential garage burglary in the 5100 block of Marlyn Drive around 10 a.m. Property was stolen. Police are describing the suspect as a black male, between 14 and 15 years old, with short black hair.
  • Property was stolen from a construction site in the 5600 block of Overlea Road sometime between Friday, Oct. 21 and Tuesday, Oct. 26.
  • There was a theft from a vehicle in the 11200 block of Old Georgetown Road around noon. Police arrested a 45-year-old man from Silver Spring.

  • A home was burglarized in the 5000 block of Del Ray Avenue around 4:50 p.m. Nothing was stolen. A 19-year-old male from Washington, D.C. was arrested.
  • A home was burglarized in the 7100 block of Laverock Lane around 11:45 a.m. There was forced entry into the home and property was stolen. Police are describing the three suspects as black males, between 16 and 18 years old. Two of the suspects are described as between five feet, eight inches and five feet, nine inches tall. They were driving a silver 2011 Chevrolet Town & Country minivan.
