Police Blotter: Oct. 4- Oct. 12

A summary of recent crimes in Bethesda.

Montgomery County Police released a summary of crimes between Oct. 4 and Oct. 12. Following is a summary of crimes that took place in Bethesda.

  • On Oct. 6, there was a residential burglary at 4703 Edgefield Road around 11:20a.m. It's unknown how the burglar entered the home or whether anything was taken. Also on Oct. 6, a residential burglary occurred at 9306 Elmhirst Drive between 9:30 a.m. and 3p.m. There was forced entry and property was taken. Another residential burglary happened Oct. 6, around 11a.m. in the 4800 block of Morgan Drive around 11a.m. There was no forced entry. Police are describing the suspect in that case as a black male driving a dark vehicle.
  • On Oct. 7, two thefts from vehicles took place in the St. Elmo Avenue parking garage between 6:45 p.m. and 10 p.m. Items that were left inside, including a laptop, a GPS and an iPod were stolen. There were no signs of forced entry found.
  • On Oct. 9, a commercial burglary took place at the Bethesda Library around 6:30p.m. Coins from a donation box were stolen.
  • On Oct. 9, a residential burglary occurred some time between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. at 4005 Rickover Road. There was forced entry and property was taken.
  • On Oct. 9, there was a commercial burglary at Yo Cake in the Montgomery Mall at 7101 Democracy Boulevard. Its not known whether anything was taken.
  • In the overnight hours between Oct. 9 and Oct. 10, a residential burglary happened in the 6400 block of E. Halbert Road. Property was taken and there was no forced entry. The same evening, a residential burglary happened in the 6200 block of Wagner Lane. There was no forced entry and property was taken. Cash was also stolen from an unlocked vehicle inside the garage.
  • On Oct. 10, between 4:00 a.m. and 8:40 a.m.  there was another residential burglary in the 6200 block of Wagner Lane. There was no forced entry and nothing was taken. Police are describing the suspect in that burglary as a male of unknown race, between five feet, eight inches and five feet, nine inches tall, and weighing around 200 pounds.
  • An armed robbery happened Dahlonega Road & Mohican Road Oct. 11. The victim, a teenage male, had agreed to meet up with the suspect, according to police. The suspect arrived with two others and one showed a knife. The men assaulted the victim, stole personal property, and fled in a car driven by a fourth person. Police didn't have more information on why the victim and the suspects were meeting. Police are describing the suspects as a black male, 17-18, five feet ten inches and between 160-180 pounds; a white male, 20-25, six feet tall and between 130-140 pounds with tattoos on both arms, and a white male, 20-25, between six feet three inches and six feet five inches and between 130-140 pounds. The vehicle was a tan Honda Accord.
