Police Charge 3 Teens in Country Club Burglary Bender

The three male juveniles suspected of burglarizing the Bethesda Country Club last August have been arrested and charged with second-degree burglary, vandalism and theft of property worth more than $1,000, according to a news release from county police.

The Aug. 1 burglary was a bit of a bender. Surveillance video and other evidence indicated that burglars stole food, drinks, sports equipment and merchandise from the club starting at around 3:15 a.m., Patch reported in August.

The burglars also broke into a garage and took a golf cart, then drove the golf cart through a wooden gate, damaging both cart and gate, before abandoning the cart on the golf course, police said.

After being charged, the three 17-year-olds—all of whom live in Montgomery County—were released to the custody of their parents or guardians, police said.

Police identified the suspects with the help of anonymous tips received by Crime Solvers after the mid-August release of the surveillance video, police said.
