Police Investigating Sex Offense Against Female Jogger

Woman grabbed inappropriately while running on Old Georgetown Road.

Montgomery County police are investigating a sex offense against a female jogger in Bethesda Monday morning.

A 24-year-old woman was running northbound on Old Georgetown Road between Kingswood Road and Lone Oak Drive around 5:50a.m. when a man approached her from behind and grabbed her inappropriately, police reported in a statement. The woman struggled with the man, who fled when a car came into view, according to police.

Police are describing the man as a black male, between 30 and 40 years old, about five feet, eight inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. The man was wearing light-colored pants, a cream-colored shirt and a tan winter hat, according to police.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to call the Montgomery County Police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000. Police are also advising residents to take precautions when participating in outdoor activities as daylight hours wane, including avoiding being alone outside in the dark.
