Rescuers Respond to Kitchen Fire at Bethesda Apartment Building

A woman was transported to the hospital after a Monday evening kitchen fire at a Bethesda apartment building, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.

Rescuers responded to 4857 Battery Lane shortly before 9p.m., according to Assistant Chief Scott Graham, a Fire and Rescue spokesman. Firefighers found a grease fire on a stove in one of the units and quickly extinguished the flames, Graham said.

A woman suffered minor burns and was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, Graham said.

Battery Lane was closed to traffic near Woodmont Avenue as rescuers responded to the fire.
