Police released surveillance videos on Monday of a man and woman whom police suspect were involved in the armed robbery of a Westfield Montgomery mall shopper on Christmas Eve, according to a Montgomery County Police Department statement.

At about 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve, a man closely followed a 71-year-old woman out of the mall (at 7101 Democracy Blvd., Bethesda) and into the parking garage next to the mall's Sears store. The man took out a handgun, grabbed the woman's purse and fled on foot, police said.

Within two hours, the woman's stolen credit cards and checkbook had been used at Lanham and College Park stores, police said.

Detectives obtained store surveillance videos of two suspects—a man and a woman—using one of the stolen checks.

In one video, a man and woman appear to purchase a cartload of items from a store.

In the other video, a man and woman appear to leave a store with a cartload of items.

Police ask anyone who recognizes either suspect or has information about the robbery to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or enter a tip online. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided that leads to an arrest or indictment for this felony crime.
