The U.S. is truly a bad place to be in at times. Its sad that that kid shot over his gun n the cell phone is not worth losing ur life over just like money its not worth it. I would tell my kids if u get robbed give them what they want because I can replace the phone n money but I can not replace u

Wow. Sad to read you feel that way about where you live. I live in Northern Va and am a native of the DMV (lived in DC, MD and now VA). There are places I don't frequent because I don't feel safe or familiar. However, where I live I feel safe but I also realize that violence and stupidity is everywhere. Always be aware of your surroundings. But we also have to know that material things are not as important as life.

Natasha, I truly understand what you are feeling. I am from Florida and I work as a Trauma Nurse. I think senseless crime arise from uneducated poor people. Rich educated people crime has a bigger purpose. Please do not misunderstand me, all crime is bad, however the people who create this type of crime has no moral standards.

Teresa, I have to totally disagree with you about the United States being a bad place all the time. I am from the South and we have a very detailed social structure that is combined with education. It is very important that we as Americans teach our kids the basic concept of loving ourselves and knowing God. We must return to our basic family unit which includes 2 parents that are raising kids together. Children should respect their elders, and the expectation for them is to go to college. We must set high standards for our children.
