Teens Steal Bikes in Bethesda Street Robbery

Two teenagers stole bikes during a robbery near the Georgetown Square shopping center, Montgomery County Police report.

Two teenagers stole bikes last Tuesday on Old Georgetown Road, Montgomery County police report.

Montgomery County Police responded to the report of a strong-arm robbery in the 10400 block of Old Georgetown Road around 3 p.m. Jan. 22, according to police spokeswoman Angela Cruz.

The address is near the Georgetown Square shopping center.

Two teens stole two bikes in the robbery, according to initial information, Cruz said. 

A police report wasn't immediately available.

Robberies were up last year in Montgomery County Police's second district, according to second district commander Capt. David Falcinelli.

“Robberies are a violent crime and they’re certainly a priority for us to do what we can to prevent them and to make arrests for those incidents that have already occurred,” Falcinelli told Patch last month.
