Worker Struck on Rockville Pike

The driver remained on the scene and the victim was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A passing car struck a Metro worker on Rockville Pike shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, according to Montgomery County police.

The victim was standing by his work truck, performing work in the median, when another vehicle struck him in the 10100 block of Rockville Pike (near the 5300 block of Grosvenor Lane), according to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.  

The driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene, according to police.

The Metro worker was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was not injured, according to the rescue service.
