Downtown Bethesda Goes Mobile

Bethesda Urban Partnership announces launch of mobile site.

If you're on the go in Bethesda, you can now access downtown Bethesda's website, www.bethesda.org, on your mobile phone.

The a non-profit group tasked with marketing and maintenance of downtown Bethesda, manages the site, which houses an events calendar, information on parking and the Bethesda Circulator and details on restaurants, galleries and retailers.

BUP recently announced launch of the mobile site: http://m.bethesda.org. According to the group, it's viewable on any phone with a browser, including your iPhone or Blackberry. Users who type in www.bethesda.org on their mobile browser will be automatically directed to the mobile site.

"Smart phones are changing the way that we do business and the way that we can communicate with Bethesda constituents," said Stephanie Coppula, BUP marketing director, in a statement. "The mobile web allows Bethesda.org users a better experience – giving them faster access to the information that they want about downtown Bethesda."
