Highway Officials to Host Meeting on Summer Closure of Cedar Lane

An informational meeting about the temporary closure of a portion of Cedar Lane near Rockville Pike will be held Tuesday.

From a news release:

An informational meeting about the upcoming temporary closure of a portion of Cedar Lane near Rockville Pike will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Services Center at 4805 Edgemoor Lane.

This will be an open-house format where the State Highway Administration will provide information about the planned closure of a 1,000-foot section of the eastern leg of Cedar Lane beginning June 6, weather permitting, between Rockville Pike and Elmhirst Parkway. Information will be provided about the schedule for closure and the approved detour route.

SHA will have display boards and maps around the room describing the planned closure and detours, with SHA personnel standing by to answer questions one-on-one. Printed materials will also be available at the meeting and will be posted on the county’s BRAC website.

The closure and detour are part of the maintenance of traffic for SHA’s intersection improvement project at Rockville Pike and Cedar Lane. This is one of several BRAC-related projects to improve vehicle, transit, and pedestrian access to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda.
