Navy To Host Job Fair for Veterans, Military Spouses

The first ever 100,000 Jobs Mission Hiring Event for military families will be held in Bethesda on Feb. 25.

As the unemployment rate decreases, there are still many Americans looking for jobs and are in need of resources.

Yet, some of these Americans have sacrificed their lives or the lives of their familes to serve their country, and in their honor the Navy is teaming up with other employers to host the first 100,000 Jobs Mission Hiring Event.

According to the story the U.S. Department of Defense's website, the job fair catering to veterans and military spouses will be held at the Naval Support Activity Bethesda on Feb. 25.

“America is clearly hiring once again and efforts like this from our nation’s employers are exactly what’s needed to put our talented veterans and their spouses to work,” Brad Cooper, executive director of Joining Forces, said in a statement to the media.

Joining Forces is a program that rallies the nation's support for military families and was launched by First Lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Interested parties must register for the event online by Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. They also must have a valid military or photo ID to attend.
