Thanksgiving Day: What's Closed, What's Free?

Liquor stores will be closed and parking in county lots and at county meters will be free-of-charge on Thanksgiving Day.

For those not leaving Bethesda for Thanksgiving, here's a rundown on what's closed for the holiday:

  • State offices and courts
  • County offices
  • Libraries
  • County liquor stores
  • Montgomery County public schools and administrative offices
  • Recreation centers, classes, administrative offices
  • Senior centers, programs, classes
  • TRiPS commuter stores in Silver Spring and Friendship Heights
  • Shady Grove trash transfer station

County-provided curbside trash and recycling pickups will not take place on Thanksgiving Day, and will slide by one day, through Saturday.
