What's Open, What's Closed Tuesday in Montgomery County

What's services are open and what's closed or delayed today?

As the county digs out from ice and snow, some services are open and others remain closed for a second day.

Buses:

Ride On bus service expected to run normal schedule Tuesday. Delays possible due to icy roads.

Schools:
Montgomery County Public Schools are closed Tuesday, March 4, due to emergency weather conditions. All school and community activities in school buildings also are canceled.

Administrative offices will be open on time. Day care programs in school buildings may choose to open, but parents should check with their day care provider.

County offices:

Montgomery County government is open today with liberal leave for non-essential employees. Those taking leave must notify supervisors.

Recreation, senior centers:

All regularly scheduled recreation department programs and activities are canceled today. Senior Centers are closed and all programs canceled.

Trash, recycling:

All Montgomery County-provided recycling and trash collections will be one day later than normal this week.

Trucks may run a bit behind their normal schedule if streets are icy. If a street is not passable in the morning, the crew will attempt it again at the end of the day. Streets remaining unplowed by late Tuesday will be serviced first thing on Wednesday morning. By the end of the day on Wednesday, officials expect all Monday and Tuesday routes to be complete.

Please have your items out at the curb for collection by 7 a.m. Where there are snow banks and parked cars, please place your bins, cans, and carts so that crews see them easily from the street.
