News Literacy Project Speaker Event

The News Literacy Project, a Bethesda-based educational program that uses journalists to help teach middle and high school students to be informed consumers of news and information in the digital age, will host a series of speaker events at Walt Whitman High School this fall. On Oct. 17, Gwen Ifill of the "PBS NewsHour" and "Washington Week" will give a speech entitled "Race and Politics in the Age of Obama." The event will be moderated by Richard Wolffe of MSNBC.  To purchase tickets online, go to www.thenewsliteracyproject.org. An additional speaker event is planned for Nov. 4.
