"Peak Oil"
Richard Smith, Ph.D retired scientist, National Institute for Standards & Technology
Dr. Smith sees the energy crisis and global warming as inseparable problems in a complex, nonlinear world. Energy is critical for the existence of the good life in today's society, yet cheap oil is gone and there is no real substitute on the horizon for petroleum. Dr.Smith has a PHD in physics. He teaches courses on the energy crisis at the Washington Ethical Society and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
