United Nation's Day

Brings World Diplomats Together
Education Goes International on October 28th!

United Nations Day will be celebrated at the Oneness-Family School on Friday, October 28th at 10:00am. Joining the students will be numerous ambassadors and diplomats from embassies reaching every geographic region of the globe. The diplomats will carry their national flag in the colorful, annual Procession of Nations.

Studying the cultures of the world has been a part of the Oneness-Family School curriculum since its beginning in 1988. Andrew Kutt, Founder and Head of School, of the international Montessori school commented: “Our mission is to teach future leaders that the world is one family. Learning does not just come from books. It comes from interaction with the world and from engaging with the people who surround us. While basic core skills are essential, it is equally, if not more important, that we endow our students with capacities for continued growth, learning, communication and self-awareness."

Last year, 48 embassy representatives participated in the United Nations Day program at the school to support the initiative and to interact with the students. As in past years, Oneness-Family School students will present a cultural program for the guests. The diplomats will also visit the classrooms to view the displays of the countries the students are studying and enjoy an international luncheon prepared by the parents who hale from some 55 different nations.

Oneness-Family School has found a way to extend education beyond books and encompass the community in which they live. UN Day is one of the highlights of a multifaceted schedule of programs that the school offers during the year.

At the forefront of educational innovation since 1988, Oneness-Family School is an international Montessori school, located in Chevy Chase, MD, serving students age two through middle school. Its rigorous academic program and progressive curriculum creates a challenging and supportive atmosphere for exploration and growth. Come visit us! www.onenessfamily.org
