Your Computer­ - What You Don't Know Could Hurt You

Your computer is susceptible to 4 threats: viruses, spyware, phishing, and spam.  Viruses can wipe out all the data on your computer and render your computer inoperable.  Four or five new viruses are created each day.  Spyware can track the keystrokes that you type and report your credit card number or other sensitive information to spyware creators.  Phishing can infect your computer with many problems.  Spam (junk email) is a nuisance.  This class will cover each of these threats and explain what you can do to protect your computer from them.

All our computer courses are taught with Windows, not Mac, computers.

Each course has prerequisites. Please read them carefully. In addition, to make sure you’re at the right level for a course, complete the computer quiz in the Live & Learn Bethesda catalog and return it to Live & Learn Bethesda at least one week before class.

PREREQUISITE: This course is for advanced beginner and intermediate students.
