Local leaders honored Bethesda's three Olympians with a host of awards and proclamations at a high-energy rally Friday evening at Bethesda Metro Center.
Kayaker Scott Parsons, rythmic gymnast Julie Zetlin and swimmer and gold medalist Katie Ledecky spoke to the crowd, signed autographs and thanked the community for their support.
The event was hosted by NBC's Dan Hellie, who covered the Olympics from London. Community groups and leaders including U.S. Rep. Christopher Van Hollen (D), Montgomery County Council President Roger Berliner (D-Dist. 1), the , and the took part.
