Several roads in or near Potomac and Bethesda are closed this morning due to flooding.

Strathmore Avenue is expected to be shut down until about 2:30 p.m., a Montgomery County police spokeswoman said.

In addition, several Bethesda-area roadways remained closed as of 10:30 a.m. because of the high water:

  • Inner Loop Capital Beltway exit ramp for River Road (exit 39)
  • Massachusetts Avenue in both directions at Goldsborough Road
  • Clara Barton Parkway from Cabin John Parkway to Chain Bridge
  • Little Falls Parkway from River Road to Massachusetts Avenue

The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for south central Montgomery County until 11:45 a.m.
