Lots 31, 31A: Excavation Nearly Complete, Signs Up for Lux Condo 'The Darcy'

Look closely to see how construction is progressing.

Construction progresses at Lots 31 and 31A in downtown Bethesda, along Bethesda Avenue at Woodmont Avenue. The site is in its final weeks of excavation, and footings for the new building have been completed at the site's western side, according to the Go Montgomery blog.

Elevated decks are under construction in the western side of the site, and can be seen in a photograph taken by Patch on Sept. 4. Concrete pours are continuing, the blog adds.

Next to Lot 31 (which is west of Lot 31A), the Capital Crescent Trail has a new protective cover.

An underground parking garage with 940 public spaces and two mixed-use residential buildings—one five stories, the other nine stories—are planned for the site. The buildings—collectively called "The Darcy"—will include luxury condominiums and about 8,600 square feet of retail space. Retail will include boutique shops and "a signature restaurant," according to thedarcy.com.
