Tornado Watch for Much of Maryland on Monday

The National Weather Service has issued the following alert.

A tornado watch is in effect Monday until 5 p.m. for much of Maryland, according to the National Weather Service.

A Midwest storm system responsible for snow in North Dakota and tornadoes in Nebraska brings the possibility the severe weather to Maryland.

A tornado watch means that weather conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms and tornadoes, according to NWS. Residents should be alert and prepare for severe weather.

The following locations are under the watch:

  • Anne Arundel
  • Caroline
  • Charles
  • Howard
  • Prince George’s
  • Washington
  • Baltimore
  • Carroll
  • Frederick
  • Kent
  • Queen Anne’s
  • Calvert
  • Cecil
  • Harford
  • Montgomery
  • Talbot
