Celebrate Spring at the Around the World Embassy Tour This Saturday

A welcome sign of spring is the annual Around the World Embassy Tour organized by Cultural Tourism DC.  Banners are out inviting all in the DC metropolitan region and visitors to visit – to experience the culture of the country this Saturday, May 3, 2014, 10 am to 4 pm.

The Embassy of Peru has posted large banners and a Twitter tweet inviting visitors to "Feel The Magic of Peru" during the embassy tour and visit the exhibition at the National Geographic Museum, Peruvian Gold: Ancient Treasures Unearthed, which opened Thursday, April 10 continuing to Sunday, September 14, 2014.

On Twitter, the Embassy of Ecuador invites visitors to experience the traditional music, dance, music, and cuisine.  The Embassy of Japan is extending an invitation to tour the Old Ambassador’s Residence.  Cultural DC lists the Embassy of South Africa as a participating 2014 embassy after being closed for renovation last year.  Visit Cultural Tourism DC for a list of the 2014 participating embassies.

Many of the embassies are located along Massachusetts Avenue and within walking distance from the Dupont Circle Metrorail station and then a stroll along the avenue and Embassy Row.   Embassies on International Drive are convenient to the Van Ness Metrorail station.  Shuttle buses also make embassy visits easily accessible.

What a great way to celebrate spring and think about plans for travel this summer.
