The Washington Post says the orchestra "sets a standard not easily matched" in its performance of music from the great bands of the Big Band era—Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Harry James, Woody Herman, Lionel Hampton and more. PBS selected the orchestra to provide the soundtrack for its show The Big Band Sound of WWII. Vintage attire (military or civilian) is encouraged.
